Personal Protective Equipment

Hi,

This post is intended for those of you who may be an important supplier to Mantum Special AB

During the month of May, Mantum, together with its customers, conducted an on-site review of loading and unloading operations to assess how well your drivers are using personal protective equipment. Unfortunately, it is alarming how low the rate of use is for equipment and protective gear intended for individual safety.

The main items missing are a face shield or safety goggles, proper safety shoes with a closed heel (slippers with steel toes are incredibly common but not permitted), and high-visibility pants.

After the summer, Mantum will conduct a new survey of protective equipment usage. At that time, we’ll add a new requirement: all drivers who, during a spot inspection, have CORRECT protective equipment will receive a Swish payment of 500 SEK. This will continue through the end of September.

Effective October 1, Mantum will charge 5,000 SEK whenever a driver is not wearing the proper protective equipment.

The proper protective equipment is shown in the image below and in the attachment. If you have any questions, please contact the undersigned.

Proper protective equipment:

Helmet with chin strap (used)

Visor or safety glasses

High-visibility clothing for the upper body

High-visibility pants

Safety shoes with a closed heel
