This shipment has not been properly secured and therefore poses a life-threatening hazard.
The sections must be secured individually to eliminate the risk of tipping during unloading. Here, however, the decision was made to move the sections toward the center supports using only cross-lashing.
According to the driver, this was done at the shipper’s request to speed up the loading process and avoid spending time moving the loading arm to the correct position on the trailer.
Never forget that, as a driver, you have every right to say “stop” and “no” to ideas that aren’t safe. Efficiency, load capacity, or time never take precedence over safety. If you’re unsure, always contact your dispatch team instead of just driving off.
