When pre-loading cargo such as round pillars, where wedges are needed to secure the cargo laterally, you must fasten the wedges to the flatbed using, for example, screws, and not simply rely on the wedges staying in place due to the cargo and friction. Once the load is hitched and transport begins, the wedges WILL shift. It is also important to ensure that the wedges are firmly pressed under the cargo to minimize any wobbling.
When those responsible for loading fail to do this, SELF-INSPECTION is crucial to ensuring that the cargo can be transported safely. Never hitch a load that does not have wedges in place. First, see if you can resolve the problem; if not, contact traffic control.
Another problem is that the pillar is not positioned against the cargo in front of it either. In other words, it is not secured.
