Hitching a pre-loaded trailer or maneuvering a loaded flatbed—whether it’s a swap body or a flatbed—always involves a high risk when taking to the roads.
Failing to inspect a load that has been loaded without your personal supervision can lead to very serious accidents, fines, or the suspension of your driver’s license.
When you, as a driver, take to the roads, you—and no one else—bear the responsibility, even if someone else loaded the cargo. However, you always have the full right to refuse a trip that is considered dangerous due to improper loading for safety reasons. And this is where “self-inspection” comes into play.
It’s important to distinguish between who made the mistake and who is responsible. The load shown below is clearly loaded incorrectly. But that doesn’t change the fact that the driver is responsible as soon as the vehicle is loaded and hits the road. That’s why SELF-INSPECTION is essential!
If this load had been inspected, it probably would never have left the factory, and we would never have put other road users, colleagues, and installation workers at risk.
