Prevent backward slippage by using a chain

In winter, flatbed trailers—both loaded and empty—can start to slide. To prevent them from sliding backward, chains must be secured as shown in the images below to prevent slippage. The reason for the sliding is that, at sub-zero temperatures, steel against steel acts like a skate on ice.
