Spring is fast approaching, and with it, the thaw. This also means problems with potholes and frost damage. The Swedish Transport Administration is now issuing a warning about this in the Mälardalen region and Östergötland.
“We recommend that all heavy-duty vehicle drivers traveling on small and medium-sized roads at this time of year check road conditions before setting out,” says Ingvar Arebratt, section manager at the Swedish Transport Administration, Eastern Maintenance Region.
The incident described above occurred due to frost heave in the spring of 2013. It had been possible to cut through the curve at
all winter long, but suddenly it was no longer possible.
