These “bracing angles” were developed in the 1980s at the request of Green Cargo, when very tall beams were being transported on rail cars, and since then they have been used both on rail and on trucks.
If you use machine clamps on either side of the beam, you’ll achieve the same effect as cross-bracing, and it’s gentler on the concrete beam.
