A possible cause is a combination of ice and snow on both the slabs and the base, along with insufficient securing or lashing. The stakes were placed more than 30 cm away from the load, which meant they did not absorb much force; furthermore, the angle of the chains means that significantly more than the 7 chains used are required to securely lashing the load. In snow or ice conditions, at least 1 chain or strap per 2 metric tons of load should be used (i.e., 30 metric tons = 15 chains or straps) when there is no option to secure the load from the front.<\/p>\n<p>To secure the load, the trailers should be equipped with a load-securing rail as shown on the attached diagram.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/betongtransporter.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/incident_balkonger.png\" border=\"0\" width=\"595\" height=\"1018\"><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The top balconies in a row of six tiles flew off at a roundabout.
